Quick Take:

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the classic story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped in a spell placed by an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

The Director:

Rebecca Roy received her degree in Theatre from Indiana Wesleyan where she graduated in 2014. She enjoys teaching and directing for various groups throughout Central Indiana and is honored to serve as Executive Director for The Attic Theatre. Other productions she has directed for this company include Julius Caesar, Annie and Macbeth. In addition to filling the role as director, Rebecca has played significant roles on stage including Margaret Lord in The Philadelphia Story, and more recently Juror # 11 in Twelve Angry Women.

Music Director:

Karen Smith participated in theater way back in the dark ages when she was in high school.  As wife to Bill and the homeschooling mom of five children, she wanted to help provide her kids with experience in the performing arts, so she directed her first musical in the fall of 2003.  Over the next twelve years, she was a musical director, stage manager, and technical director for several other productions.  In 2016, Karen became a board member with the Attic Theatre, and thus began her new endeavors with “the stage!”  She has acted in three productions in the last couple of years, and is looking forward to once again joining Rebecca as the musical director for this summer’s production of Beauty and the Beast.
